Samsung may not be the first company showed mobile 4K display (that honor belongs to the Sony Xperia Z5 Premium), but it seems that the South Korean manufacturer is preparing its own 4K display for upcoming smartphones.
The company unveiled the new screen during the conference Display Week, which was held in San Francisco. The display has a diagonal of 5.5 inches and has a resolution of 2160 x 3840 pixels, which gives impressive density of 806 pixels per inch.
Current models such as the Galaxy S7 and Galaxy S7 Edge have Quad HD resolution (1440 x 2560), but an upcoming next model from Samsung the new Galaxy Note as example can get 4K display.
Although most users would hardly caught the differences between Quad HD and 4K displays, but such a choice seems logical when we talk about Samsung Gear VR. The mobile headset for virtual reality of the company is powered by a compatible phones, so that a 4K display will make VR content look even more realistic.
