Microsoft on Friday announced it is now rolling out add-in support to Outlook for Android. The list of supported add-ins includes Evernote, Microsoft Dynamics 365, Microsoft Translator, Nimble, OnePlaceMail, Outlook Customer Manager, Smartsheet, and Trello.
The move comes after Microsoft in February first introduced add-ins for Outlook on iOS.
“Add-ins help you accomplish tasks quickly, right from Outlook,” Microsoft’s Suzanne Choney wrote in a blog post. “Whether you want to save an email to your customer relationship management app, quickly add email content to your project board, translate emails on the fly or add a bit of flair and personality to emails, add-ins have you covered. There is no need to switch back and forth between apps or copy/paste email information.”
To start using add-ins for Outlook on Android (or iOS), head over to Settings > Add-ins, then tap the + sign next to the ones you want to enable. The feature is available for Android users with Outlook.com or Office 365 commercial email accounts. For more information, head over to this support article.
Meanwhile, Microsoft is also launching several new add-ins for Outlook that will be available for all users across the Web, Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android. Those include the project management tools Wrike and JIRA, task manager MeisterTask, GIF search tool Gfycat, and sticker search tool MojiLala.
Finally, Microsoft also plans to bring add-ins to Gmail users on iOS and Android at some point in the near future.
